why I made Zuvie
A note from the founder
I got tired of skincare
that lies to you. So I
made one that doesn't.
No miracle claims. No hidden fragrance. Just the whole formula, told straight — and the reason I'm making you wait for it.
Julian · Founder of ZUVIE
Every serum I picked up promised the same impossible thing: look ten years younger, practically overnight. I'm old enough to know that's not how skin works — and honestly, I was tired of being sold a fantasy and charged a fortune for it.
So I stopped looking at the marketing and started looking at the formulas. What I found was uncomfortable: most of these bottles lead with one fashionable ingredient in big letters on the front — and never tell you how much of it is actually in there. The ingredients you think you're paying for can be present in trace amounts, and every word on the box is still technically true.
I didn't want to make another one of those. So I did the opposite. I decided the amounts first — and then I decided to print them. All 29 of them are on the product page already, not just the flattering three.
That's ZUVIE. A PDRN peptide serum for people who've stopped believing the hype — and just want to be told what's in the bottle. If you've ever read an ingredient list and felt lied to, this was made for you.
This isn't about a new face.
It isn't a promise about your face at all —
it's a bottle that prints its whole formula,
every single ingredient with a number next to it.
Four things most brands won't tell you
So we put them front and center instead.
1% PDRN. The unusual part is that we're telling you.
PDRN is the ingredient this whole category is built on, and almost nobody prints how much of it they use. We do. Ours is 1% PDRN, 3% peptides and 2% niacinamide.
Whether those numbers impress you is genuinely your call to make — we'd just rather you got to make it. You can't compare what you're never shown.
The full formula — published before you're asked for money.
Not a highlight reel of the four ingredients that sound expensive. All 29 are on the product page today, including the parts that aren't impressive and the two colorants that are there for no reason but the color. Then hold it up against whatever's already on your shelf and decide for yourself whether it's worth $69.
We'd rather lose that argument honestly than win it quietly.
Fragrance-free. On purpose.
The perfume came out deliberately. It's there to make a product smell expensive, and it's one of the more common reasons skin objects to something. We'd rather leave out what doesn't belong than add something that only looks good on a label.
Weeks, not overnight.
Real skincare takes time. If anything changes, it changes slowly — the version of your face on a good morning, a bit more often. We'd rather tell you that now than sell you a miracle you'll want to return in a week.
The honest part
And here's what it won't do.
It won't change your face. It won't erase ten years overnight. It won't do what the loud bottles promise — because nothing does.
What it's made to do is quieter: it holds water at the surface of your skin and softens it. What it does beyond that is the part we're not going to claim — nobody has used this serum yet. If that's not what you're after, we'd honestly rather you didn't buy it.
"Take your time. Rome wasn't built in a day, and I was always told all good things come to those who wait."— Joanne, on the ZUVIE waitlist
A real reply to one of our emails, shared with her permission. It isn't a product review — nobody has used the serum yet, Joanne included. There's nothing to review, and we'd rather say that out loud than let you assume otherwise.
Put your name down.
The serum will cost $69. It will be sold, not given away — there are no free samples and no test bottles. Nothing to pay to join the list, and no date, because a safety assessor still has to sign the whole thing off. You'll hear from me when that happens, and about the parts that go wrong too.
$69 when it launches · Nothing to pay to join the list · Leave the list any time
I'll email you when there's something real to say, and not before.
